Welcome! =D

Welcome to this page, KPOP World In Me.

Basically, this page is for my college purpose.

Last year (2013), I was required to create a blog and to talk about the things I like. Therefore, I promoted South Korea, and that was my topic for the assignment. To view them, checkout the sidebar, under the "My Previous Project" section.

As of this year (2014), for IT-subject, I was asked to create a blog again. So, I thought that I might as well use this existing blog and fortunately, my lecturer allowed me to do so.

In summary, all I want to say is that this is NOT a personal blog. Although the website is called "KPOP World", but it will contain non-KPOP related topics...

That is all from me. Happy reading~~ ^^

P/S - I found out that you need to refresh the page whenever you first open the page. This is to get the correct fonts that I've set for this page.

Tutorial 2 (Blog Part 2)

1) What is Internet (definition) ?
The Internet is a worldwide collection of networks that links together
millions of business, the government, educational institutions and individuals using modems, telephone lines and other communication devices and media.

2) What are the benefits of using Internet?
Internet provides opportunities galore, and can be used for a variety of things. I'll just talk about 4 benefits in short.

i. Accessing Information
One of the most important values of Internet is accessing information from all around the globe. Any kinds of information and data are available & accessible on Internet. Users only need to use the “search engine” to search on the subject they need with the help of Internet. Moreover, they can also watch and download those software, games, songs, and videos them directly into their computer.

 ii. Communication & File Sharing

E-mail was created due to Internet. With E-mail as well as social communication sites; Facebook & Twitter, one can communicate with their friends easily and also for free by sending instant messages to their friends & receiving them back in instant too. They do not need to use the traditional mail anymore as it takes too much of days for the other party to receive it. Besides messaging only, they can also attach the files, such as images and videos and share the files to them. Video conferencing can be done too with Internet, family members will get to learn about the others’ condition in another area or country by having face-to-face communication by using Internet, via Skype.

iii.  Online Shopping & Online Booking

Besides, customers do not need to go to stores & malls to buy the things they want or need as there is online shopping. They can do all their shopping from with so much of convenience and even pay them on the spot with credit card or bank transactions without going anywhere.
Not only that, online booking are available too; from flight tickets and seats booking to hotel reservations, everything can be done by using Internet. This is definitely convenient for those who love to go for vacations.

iv.  Online Advertisements
Products nowadays are advertised through Internet, besides television & radio. Internet had become the effective and inexpensive method for the marketing of goods in this IT age.

3) What is Web services & Web application?
To make it easier to understand, web service is "server" and web application is "client". Usually, “server” serves machines and “clients” serve the user. In other words, the part that serves the data in the system is called is the web service and the part that utilizes the data is the "application"(web application).
As such, one can build a web service that can provide data and allows different applications to communicate with each other and users will use them as web application.

4) Discuss on one of the protocols used by Internet.
 FTP (File Transfer Protocol)
FTP is one of the most important and popular protocols used in Internet. Any two computers from any two parts of the world are able to send & receive files between one another as well as connecting to each other through FTP.  They will use standard FTP commands in order to connect to an FTP server, whereby they can upload (send) or download (get) any file to & from the server. Web browser nowadays (Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer) supports FTP for its purpose. Those files uploaded can be accessed publicly or privately. And that is why most of the FTP servers require user accounts with passwords in order to allow their users to connect themselves. This is to protect and to avoid any private & confidential file to be leaked out to anonymous.

P/S - Blogspot is giving me trouble by not synchronizing the font face & font size that I want. So, the fonts are all different.
